Kardashian ‘honoured’ to wear Monroe gown

KIM Kardashian has said she was “so honoured” to be wearing a historic gown once worn by Hollywood superstar Marilyn Monroe to this year’s Met Gala.

The reality star revealed she had lost 16 pounds to fit into the “iconic” gown, which was on loan to her from the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum museum. It was worn by Monroe during du her famous 1962 performanc­e perfo of Happy Birthday to US president John F Kennedy.

The Met Gala at the The Th Metropolit­an Museum of Art in New York City, is one of the biggest and most exclusive si nights in the fas fashion world and attra attracts a number of high-e end and outrageous outfits.

This year’s theme was Gilded Glamour G and Kardashian was joined by other members m of her famous f family as well as scores of o other celebritie­s includin including Lizzo, Cardi B, Billie E Eilish, Megan Thee Stallion and Sarah Jessica Park Parker. Sharing Shar pictures of the gown gow on Instagram, Kardashian revealed re the skintight dress wa was adorned with more than 6,000 6,00 crystals, handsewn by costumier costum Jean Louis. “I am so honoured hon to be wearing the iconic d dress that Marilyn Monroe wore in 1962 to sing Happy Birthday to President John F Kennedy,” she sh wrote. “It is a stunning skin-ti tight gown adorned with more than 6,000 hand-sewn crystals by costu costumier Jean Louis. “Thank you Ri Ripley’s Believe It or Not! for giving m me the opportunit­y to debut this e evocative piece of fashion history for the first time since the late Marilyn Monroe wore it. I am forever fo grateful for this moment.”
