DILLON PHILLIPS

Made two brilliant saves in the first half, one from Liam Thompson and an even better one from Tom Lawrence.

CODY DRAMEH

A quietish start for the right-back but really grew into it. Didn’t see too many of his marauding runs early on, but the first he went on played a part in Hugill’s goal. Defensively solid enough.

CURTIS NELSON

Rarely put a foot out of line. In fact, he went under the radar a little, which suggests he had a pretty solid game.

ADEN FLINT (C)

Same as above, really. The stand-in captain for the day also made some crucial interventions from Derby corners.

OLIVER DENHAM

Made a couple of really important last-ditch challenges, but lost a couple of important aerial duels. Hooked for Colwill at half-time.

JOEL BAGAN

A microcosm of his season, really. Did well defending the dangerous Malcolm Ebiowei but just needed to add that bit more zip going forward.

ELI KING

His best game in a Cardiff shirt. Looked a lot more confident throughout and added a bit of energy to the midfield. Made Hugill’s goal by rounding the defender and goalkeeper before setting up the striker for a tap-in. Taken off after the hour.

RYAN WINTLE

Buzzed about and went about his work, as we have become accustomed to. Misplaced the odd pass but otherwise another positive display from the midfielder.

MARK HARRIS

Made himself a bit of a nuisance at times, but rarely found himself in a goalscoring position. Nothing too glamorous from the forward but a decent enough showing.

JORDAN HUGILL

Did well to hold up play throughout the match and give City a platform. Also took his goal very neatly – a solid outing from the front man.
