BUNDESLIGA 2 side Hertha BSC are reportedly weighing up a move for Swansea City winger Przemyslaw Placheta.

The 26-year-old is currently ruled out with a hamstring injury, and is approaching the end of a short-term deal with the Swans.

It remains to be seen whether the club will offer him a new deal this summer, and German outlet Bild claims he is now on the radar in the German capital, although they claim he is likely to be called upon should other options fail to materialise.

Indeed, the report claims Placheta is one of 20 names on the club’s shortlist, with Cardiff City’s Josh Bowler and Shakhtar’s Oleksiy Kashchuk among the others being considered.

Commenting on Placheta’s future, boss Luke Williams said: “He’s a really good guy. Has a great personality, and he came in and was really committed from the very beginning and I think he made some really good performances. We’re going to need a little more time on that.

“It’s looking at the injury record and the amount of games he’s been able to put together back-to-back. There are few bits that go into that.”

Meanwhile, Ollie Cooper insists

Swansea are heading in the right direction under Williams.

The midfielder has enjoyed a good run of form for the Swans in recent weeks, having started each of their last three games, all of which have resulted in victories, including a superb 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town last weekend.

“It’s been a challenging season for everyone involved,” Cooper said. “Obviously a change in manager and style of play at the start of the season, and to try to adapt and change to that was a challenge in itself, and then results weren’t going too well.

“But, with the appointment of Luke, I think you can really see what we’re trying to do now, especially in the last few games, so I feel like we’re slowly getting there. Hopefully the fans can see what we’re starting to produce on the pitch.

“Like anything, it takes time. It’s never really the case that a manager comes in and you hit the ground running straight away, especially with the fixtures we had when he first came in, but in the past few games you’re starting to see what we’re trying to do as a team.
