‘Stay safe’ call as better weather

PUBGOERS and diners across the Westcountr­y are being urged to stay vigilant this weekend, the second since the reopening of the hospitalit­y and tourism sector.

Last weekend poor weather is thought to have put many people off taking their first night out.

But the forecast is looking better for this weekend and civic leaders are warning that the coronaviru­s pandemic is still a significan­t risk.

Rob Nolan, Cornwall’s cabinet member for environmen­t and public protection said: “We want to support our local pubs and restaurant­s and as we enter our second summer weekend of them being reopened we’re reminding everyone that now is not time to be complacent.

“Please keep up the good work of keeping yourselves and people around you protected.
