Turn empty buildings into living spaces

IF any more houses are built on our green and pleasant land we will have a concrete jungle. Air pollution will increase, road congestion and over crowded schools, hospitals and general mental heath problems will increase.

I feel very sad about all this. Here in Bristol there are many empty buildings – why not make an attempt to renovate these into living accommodation? It makes sense to me, why not the local councils?
