MIDFIELDER Antoni Sarcevic has admitted he has taken a massive risk in leaving promoted Plymouth Argyle.

However, the 28-year-old is confident in his own ability to make a success of the next stage of his career after becoming hugely popular with the Green Army.

Sarcevic was the special guest on the latest #ArgyleChat podcast, produced by Plymouth Live, and he revealed a decision about his future would be coming ‘in the next couple of days.’

Bolton Wanderers have been strongly linked with Sarcevic, as well as Salford City.

Manchester-born Sarcevic was Argyle’s 2019/20 player-of-theyear and top goalscorer, but decided to turn down a new contract to stay at Home Park.

Instead, the two-time promotion winner with the Pilgrims has relocated to the north-west of England with his partner, Kate, and young sons Nico and Romi.

Sarcevic told #ArgyleChat: “My little boy, he’s going to be four in December. For us, it’s a very important age - he’s going to be starting school etc.

“I need to reiterate as much as I can to the fans that it was a difficult decision (to leave Argyle).

“Me and my family have settled very well but the coronavirus hit and it has been us four for the whole time in Plymouth.

“They haven’t seen their Nanna and Grandad for six to eight months. All of that plays a massive part.

“Now I have been home for a couple of days it’s such a nice feeling - it makes the decision a bit easier. It’s just nice to see the boys around their family.”

Sarcevic continued: “Honestly, I think if you speak to any player or management staff in the game who have children and are away from home, it’s a massive part of your life.

“They take a big chunk of it. We have raised the boys in Plymouth
