THE FA Cup second qualifying round draw could not have been more favopurable to Saltash United as they were drawn at home once again to Southern League Division One South opposition.

Dane Bunney’s side have already seen off Plymouth Parkway of the Western League Premier Division and Paulton Rovers and Cirencester Town, both of the Southern League Division One. And now, Bunney’s boys will be looking to make it a hattrick after being paired with Sholing, also of the Southern League Division One, in a match that will be played at

Kimberley Stadium on Saturday, October 3.

“It could have been a lot worse, but it is the same as Cirencester really,” Bunney said. “You don’t really know what they have done over the summer, do you?

“They might have had a really good recruitment drive – you don’t know. But we will do our homework on them, make sure we are ready and look forward to a big game next week.

“I’m sure it will be fine with allowing crowds in. The situation in the South West is very different to up north, so I don’t see it being a problem and I am sure it will be a sell-out crowd.”

Southern League Tiverton Town were also drawn at home and they will face a mouthwatering clash against big rivals Taunton Town, also of the Southern League Premier.

Tiverton manager Maryn Rogers said: “It’s a cracking tie - it could be the tie of the round.”

And with the BBC picking a game in each of these early rounds of the competition to broadcast live on their iPlayer platform, Rogers is hopeful that the Devon-Somersetborder derby will be of interest to the BBC Sport producers.

He said: “It wouldn’t be a surprise if the TV wasn’t involved in that. That would be superb. It’s got to have a chance of being the tie of the round all over the country, I’d say.

“We are at home and playing a team we know - but it is about whoever performs on the day. It’s one of those.”

Paul Wotton’s Truro City have also been drawn at home, but have the toughest task of all local clubs as they will host National League South side Hungerford Town.
