Police name woman found dead at address

A WOMAN whose death is subject to an ongoing murder investigat­ion has been named by police.

Michaela Hall, 49, was found at an address in Charlotte Close, Mount Hawke on the evening of Tuesday June 1 following a report of concern for her welfare.

On Wednesday morning a 42-yearold man was arrested in Truro on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

Detective Inspector Stephanie Blundell, from the Devon and Cornwall Police Major Crime Investigat­ion Team, said: “Our investigat­ion is very much continuing and while one man has been arrested, and remains in custody, I would still like to speak to anyone who believes they have informatio­n about this incident.

“It’s not too late to contact police and any informatio­n you have could be invaluable to the investigat­ion. I would particular­ly like to speak to any witnesses who saw or heard people visiting or leaving the address either on Bank Holiday Monday (31 May) or Tuesday 1 June.”

A scene preservati­on remained in place at the address whilst officers carried out further enquiries in the area.

It is the third murder investigat­ion in Cornwall in just over a week.

A man arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a woman in her home on Meneage Road in Helston has been released on bail.

A Cornish pensioner has also had his case heard at the crown court for the first time after being arrested on suspicion of murder. Donald Hickery, 84, is alleged to have murdered Jill Hickery in Mullion on The Lizard on Saturday.
