Lots of ideas for interiors
AN early-20th century elm and cast iron large double school bench with depth enough to fit an adult will be on offer amongst the antiques and furnishings at Eldreds sale on Tuesday, August 17 at 10am. Featuring pen recesses and inkwells, go back to school, or use in a home office for just £60-80.
Also included in the furniture section and for a similar estimate is a butcher’s block measuring 123 x 63cm, on box-section aluminium stand.
A teak military chest of two short and three long drawers, in two sections, with flush anodised handles, has an interesting history, with stencilling NSO Chatham From Warrant Ship Commodore’s Office, Dunkirk, WS146, to the lower section. With locks marked Graves & Sons, Devonport, the handsome chest asks £100-150.
Of similar age and estimate is a pair of oak deep-seated armchairs with adjustable backs and one with adjustable oak and bronze reading stand.
A nice quality brass carriage clock with pretty chime by The Chester Carriage Clock Company, with the case with reeded pilasters enclosing a white enamel dial and bell-striking movement is estimated at £100-150. For a similar estimate stands a complete collection of vintage Sitzendorf figures depicting a red-bearded Henry VIII with his six wives in various costumes and headwear.
Other lots include silver, jewellery, glass, metalware and a collection of seven floral watercolours by Shirley Harrell, depicting flowers such as poppies, primroses, roses and pansies, with starting estimates from £20.
