Modern mansion won for the price of a £25 ticket

A STRIKING £3 million mansion in North Devon has been won by a foundry worker and his family – for the price of a £25 raffle ticket.

Glen Elmy, 54, bought the ticket in aid of the NSPCC’s Childline Charity in a competiton run by Omaze.

And he’s planning to keep the property rather than sell it on.

The dream home – called Stealth House – was designed by award-winning architect Guy Greenfield.

It boasts five double bedrooms, six bathrooms, an infinity pool and panoramic views of the ocean from its clifftop location.

Glen, from Walsall in the West Midlands, said the win will change the family’s lives, after the tragic death of his father-in-law and his son recently losing his job. He said: “I’m gobsmacked, the only thing we’ve ever won before was three pounds at a bingo night on holiday.

“We absolutely love the house – if I could have designed one from scratch, it would look just like this – it’s like something from a Bond film!

“We will be keeping it as there’s no other house like it in the country – so why would we want to sell it?”

Stealth House, which sits in between Ilfracombe and Combe Martin, is surrounded by undisturbed countryside views and sandy beaches.

Its unique triangular structure, made predominantly of glass, features an infinity pool, a large media room, gardens and panoramic views of the Bristol Channel and rugged North Devon coastline.

All stamp duty and legal fees are covered and Glen has also been given £20,000 in cash to help with running costs. The house would rent out in summer for an estimate £10,000 a week.
