(Elliot Turner) and the medical team.”

Grant’s place at left wing-back, first during the draw with Crewe and then from the start at Lincoln, was taken by Jordon Garrick, the versatile loan signing from Swansea City.

Garrick is an option to replace Jephcott up front against Burton, although former MK Dons striker Kieran Agard - 32 on Sunday - seems more likely to partner Ryan Hardie.

Lowe also gave updates on Danny Mayor and George Cooper, who have been out of action for most of this season due to injury.

He said: “Danny was with physio yesterday (Thursday) and will be with the group today. He will be around for the weekend. George is possibly just a little bit behind.”

Argyle’s game against Burton is going ahead because midfielder Panutche Camara did not receive an international call-up from GuineaBissau.

Had he been away, along with

Galloway and Jephcott, then the Pilgrims could have asked for the fixture to be postponed but, as it is, others will get a chance to impress in the pair’s absence.

Lowe said: “That’s why we have a squad. We cannot stop anyone going on international duty. I’m pleased for Brendan, he definitely deserves it, and Jephs has been doing well in the 21s.

“They go with our blessing. We just hope they come back injury free because that’s always the worry.

“We are quite respectful of when they are called upon to go and represent their national teams, and we will continue to do that. It’s an opportunity for one or two others.”

Meanwhile, long-distance walker and fundraiser Speedo Mick is returning to see Plymouth Argyle play against Burton Albion today - at the request of manager Ryan Lowe.

In his trademark Everton-blue speedos, Mick is currently halfway through his six-month, 2,000-mile Giving Back Tour around the UK and Ireland.
