Ceramics and furniture among lots
ELDREDS next sale of antiques and interiors includes a nicequality Edwardian oak kneehole desk with estimate of £60-80. Being of smaller proportions, typical of early20th century furniture, this desk would fit comfortably into both older and more modern homes.
A charming child’s tea service by Wade Heath c1945, depicting a panda in various poses and complete with four miniature spoons will delight children and adults alike. Perhaps betterknown for its Disney figures and Mickey Mouse tea set, Wade Heath produced industrial as well as commercial ceramics and porcelain giftware and went on to begin the very popular Whimsies collectables a decade later. The tea set is estimated at £60-80.
A collection of 19 pieces of Plymouth crested ware will also be offered for sale with an estimate of £20-40. The group includes the Naval War Memorial, Derry’s Clock and Drake’s Statue, with Devonport, Plympton and Stonehouse coats of arms. Also collected by the same local gentleman is a collection of approximately 160 other items of crested ware with Devonshire towns coats of arms, including Tavistock, Salcombe and Teignmouth, split over four lots, with similar estimates. Designs include many teacups with saucers, small jugs, vases and three battleships.
