THE Royal Anteddiluvian Order of Buffaloes is a large fraternal organisation founded in England in 1822 which then spread throughout the British Empire and beyond. The members must be a true and loyal supporter of the constitution of their country. Members of any religion or political persuasion are allowed although neither of these subjects are permitted to be discussed at their meetings.
Various awards can be bestowed on members, an example of which is a 9ct gold Order of Merit from the General Roberts Chislehurst Lodge which was given to Primo C.W. Ash in 1926.
It comes with its red ribbon and original fitted box and invites bids of £380/400.
Amongst a good selection of watches on offer is a Cartier Ronde Solo ladies watch which was purchased a few years ago from Watches of Switzerland in Regent Street London.
It comes complete with its fitted box and full paperwork including receipt of sale. The guide of £250/350 reflects the fact that it does need servicing.
A vintage ladies Swiss made cocktail watch by Avia is in 9ct white gold set numerous pave set diamonds and asks £150/200.
Beswick hunting groups have long been popular with collectors and on offer is a mounted huntsman on a bay horse which was modelled by Arthur Gredington.
The model no. is 1501 and it was produced from 1957-95. He comes complete with four hounds and the collective price is £120/130.
A Georgian dining room set-up often included items made for a very specific purpose.
This fact is represented by an inlaid mahogany knife box with sloping lid. The interior is fitted with numerous slots to house two different sizes of knives. It stands 13” high on turned feet and is reasonably priced at £60/80.
