Your chance to nominate deserving candidates for Devon & Cornwall Sports Awards

-

Do you want to recognise and celebrate the hard work of an unsung hero in sport?

Then look no further than the Devon & Cornwall Sports Awards, which have been launched this week.

From Tom Daley to Helen Glover, Devon and Cornwall has produced some of the finest sporting talent in recent years.

However, for every Henry Slade or Tonia Couch, there are others who give up their time for the love of the sport they are involved in without any recognition.

In partnership with Plymouth College and St Austell Brewery, the awards recognise the hard work and determination of volunteers who work at both national and grassroots level.

That is why we are giving you the chance to nominate somebody you feel deserves full praise for their contribution to sport.

Whether they are coaching a local netball team, officiating a game or helping out with refreshments, they are the people who ensure sports across the South West can happen in the first place.

You never know, they might be standing on stage on at Plymouth Pavilions on Monday, January 28, collecting their award.

Nominations are now open and you, the general public, are being asked to put forward the name of the person you feel is the most deserving winner of each of the awards individual categories.

To nominate, visit the Devon & Cornwall Sports Awards website (below). The deadline for entries is Sunday, November 25.
