Don’t write-off we over-70s yet!!!

-

MARTIN Hesp’s report last Saturday began on how nature has been able to react positively to lockdown.

He then goes on to mention how a young talented friend of his was about to take up a job with him. So far so good…

According to Martin Hesp this younger person then mentions that his business which he had worked hard to build up had completely evaporated when we all went into lockdown.

Much more upsettingly, he goes on to say for that last few months he has helped to protect the over-70s... “A bunch of older folk who would be dead in 10 years anyway”!

What a horrible thing to say… It wasn’t the over-70s who flocked to Bournemouth Beach the other day huddled up like sardines.

It wasn’t the over-70s protesting and going amok about Black Lives Matter over the last weeks and could well be spreading this awful virus.

Most of the over-70s have worked hard all their lives.

Many have served their country through the two World Wars and worked hard to build this country up, so the likes of that younger man maybe in a position to grow his own business.

A great deal of the charities that operate in this country could not function without the likes of the over-70s.

EVERY LIFE MATTERS!

And I would like to tell that YOUNGER man that those of us who are more mature (in more ways than one) have no intention of leaving this earth for many years to come if we have anything to do with it!!

Furthermore, if this YOUNGER man were my son or grandson I would not be impressed with his remarks and could very well tell him so!!

He might have enjoyed looking after the likes of us over-70s, but I wonder if he told them at the same time he was caring for them where they would be in 10 years’ time!
