Kick-off for Lincoln is now earlier

-

THE kick-off time for Plymouth Argyle’s next away game, against Lincoln City, has been changed, writes Chris Errington.

Ryan Lowe’s Pilgrims will travel to Sincil Bank, on Tuesday, October 20 with the start of that match has been brought forward by 45 minutes to 7pm.

That will mean that Lowe, his staff and players will be able to set off on their long return journey to Plymouth a little earlier.

Argyle will have another long distance away game on the Saturday, when they will play Wigan Athletic.

Lincoln, under boss Michael Appleton, are currently second in the league table after their 100 per cent start to the season was ended by a 2-1 home defeat by Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

Meanwhile, an appeal has been launched to raise up to £4,000 to replace the weather-battered We Are Argyle flag which has become a regular sight at Home Park.

The 19.5 metre high by 25 metre wide flag has been kept on display inside the Theatre of Greens even though no fans have been allowed to attend games at the start of this season.

However, the effects of the weather - particularly high winds - have taken its toll on the flag and it has had to be binned.

Nick Tomlinson, of AFC Displays, estimates between £3,500 and £4,000 will be needed to pay for a new, similar size flag.

He said: “We are planning to replace it with a similar size flag. Fans can pay £10 towards it and have their name printed on the flag, or pay £15 and have their name printed on it and receive a mini version of the flag too.

“People can choose which one they would like to do on our website, www.pafcdisplays.co.uk.”

The first draft of the design of the new flag has two white sections either side of the Mayflower ship and the words We Are Argyle will be made up of the names of the people who donate.

Tomlinson said: “We haven’t set a timescale on when we want this new flag but hopefully it will not be too long.”
