Tickets for 2021 Devon County Show on sale

-

TICKETS have gone on sale for the 2021 Devon County Show.

It comes as the Government announced that agricultural shows join the list of permitted events - in recognition of the fact that they are outdoor-based and low risk for Covid-19 transmission.

Traditionally held in May, the county’s flagship three-day event will this year be held from Friday, July 2 to Sunday, July 4.

Manager of the Devon County Show, Sam Mackenzie-Green, said: “It’s a great relief to be able to now plan with confidence for our 125th show and to ensure, after its absence last year, it will be truly one to remember.

“We will, of course, continue to liaise rigorously with East Devon District Council to ensure that the show will operate in line with the Government’s recommendations for staging outdoor events. Whilst we are confident of bringing you a fantastic show, the safety of our visitors and team is absolutely paramount in our planning.”

A number of measures will be in place to mitigate the risk of Covid19, Mrs Mackenzie-Green added, with more of the show set to be staged outside this year, including food and drink, craft and gardens.

“Food outlets will be dispersed around the showground, rather than concentrated in one place, to enable more space for socially distanced queuing and seating.”

A survey conducted by the Devon County Show over Easter revealed that 90% of respondents are either “likely or very likely” to attend the show in 2021, while 92.5% of those asked are confident that the organisers will put on a show that’s safe for visitors.

And 85% said they will purchase their tickets in advance to help with monitoring numbers.
