Pilgrims hope they have the herbal remedy
PLYMOUTH Argyle have announced a new partnership deal with a nutrition brand founded by Wales and West Bromwich Albion striker Hal Robson-Kanu.
The Pilgrims’ head of fitness and conditioning John Lucas is excited about the tie-up with The Turmeric Co, the UK’s leading producer of naturally produced turmeric shots, and says there will be ‘a substantial benefit’ to the first team.
The shots are used by a number of professional sports clubs to enhance their players’ recovery and holistic health.
The Turmeric Co also have joined forces with Luton Town, Northampton Town and Rotherham United in football; Leicester Tigers, Sale Sharks and Ealing Trailfinders in rugby union, as well as British Gymnastics.
Lucas said: “We are delighted to welcome another leading brand to the team at Argyle and can’t wait to work together with The Turmeric Co. moving forward.
“The turmeric shots add another layer of support to our nutritional provision and will provide a substantial benefit to our first team.”
Argyle’s head of commercial operations, James Greenacre, added: “We’re excited to welcome The Turmeric Co. to our list of partners and we look forward to working with them.
“This is a very exciting partnership for us, not least because it provides an instant and tangible benefit for our first team, but also because we are teaming up with an innovative brand in the early stages of their journey.”
Robson-Kanu, 31, cites turmeric’s qualities as one of the pillars of his recovery from careerthreatening injuries as a teenager.
Argyle and The Turmeric Co. have confirmed that the partnership will run until the summer of 2022 and will see the nutrition brand feature prominently on the club’s social media channels, as well as sponsoring their postmatch interviews.
Simon Harris, commercial director of The Turmeric Co. said: “Our powerful formula has been designed with athletes in mind, and it’s incredible for us to be able to provide the team with our range of turmeric shots, supporting the players recovery, immunity and health through natural nutrition.”
