Bowman vows City will give their all

EXETER City striker Ryan Bowman has said that the players will be giving it their all tomorrow to make the League Two play-offs.

The Grecians are eighth in the table heading into their final day of the season clash with Barrow, just one point behind Forest Green Rovers in seventh.

Newport County and Tranmere Rovers are also within striking distance for City, although they will be relying on one of the three teams above them to drop points if they are to sneak into the playoff spots.

A point may be enough for Matt Taylor’s men - but realistically they will have to take all three from tomorrow’s home game with already safe Barrow, who have lost four of their last five.

“The main thing was we got the three points we desperately needed,” Bowman said, looking back at the 2-1 win at Bolton on Saturday.

“If we didn’t win then it would have been near enough impossible to get into the play-offs but we were fortunate to do it.

“It was a massive win. Winning in the manner we did against Grimsby and Bolton, it gives us huge momentum for Saturday. We know they are safe but that is irrelevant and they will bring their A-game, but that doesn’t affect what we are going to do and the way to go about the game.

“We will give it our all. We will leave nothing out there and see where we are come 5pm on Saturday.”

The Grecians are one point outside the play-off zone, but could break into it with a draw - if Forest Green Rovers lose at Oldham Athletic and Salford slip up at home to Leyton Orient.

Exeter could also steal a playoff place from either Newport County or Tranmere Rovers if they lose at Southend or at home to Colchester respectively.

A draw for either side would be enough for them to cement a play-off place, while Exeter have not won three games in a row all season.
