- CHRIS ERRINGTON chris.errington@reachplc.com

NEIL Warnock will be back at Home Park next month for a 25th anniversary reunion of his Plymouth Argyle Division Three Play-Off Final winning squad.

Warnock led the Pilgrims to a 1-0 victory over Darlington at Wembley in May 1996, with Ronnie Mauge getting the only goal of the game.

Now the boss of Championship club Middlesbrough, 72-year-old Warnock will attend the reunion in Club Argyle of the Mayflower Grandstand at Home Park on Friday, October 8.

Middlesbrough do not have a game that weekend because there is an international break for 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

In addition to Warnock, the following members of his 1995/96 promotion-winning squad have also confirmed they will be at the reunion:

Steve Cherry, Paul Williams, Mick Heathcote, Chris Leadbitter, Ronnie Mauge, Martin Barlow, Chris Billy and Adrian Littlejohn.

Argyle fans can also attend, with ticket prices at £55 per person, £500 for a table of 10 and £600 for a table of eight plus a player and their partner, which includes a four course meal.

There will be autograph and photo opportunities with the promotion-winning Argyle heroes while Warnock will be interviewed by Argyle Legends organiser Paul Hart. Tickets are available at www.argylelegends.co.uk.

Warnock’s last visit to Home Park was in July when Middlesbrough beat Argyle 2-1 in a pre-season game.

Argyle finished fourth in Division Three in 1995/96, which was Warnock’s first season as their manager, so went into the play-offs.

The Pilgrims lost 1-0 away to Colchester United in the semifinal first leg in Essex, but won 3-1 in the return match at Home Park with goals from Mickey Evans, Leadbitter and Williams.
