BBC: Information without fear or favour
HOW interesting that Auntie’s future as a PBS is aired – questioned – yet again. Maybe it is a good time to do so when a politically motivated, sour piece of legislation to privatise Channel 4, by a minister who knows nothing about how it works or is funded, is being fought against by members of the Conservative, Labour and Lib Dem parties and Independents in the House of Lords.
Is it again because of those in authority who do not wish for balance, impartiality, honesty, fairness, authoritative, verified investigated news, and cross-party opinions and positive criticism, a service that asks questions and seeks to offer viewers and listeners with honest answers and information without fear or favour?
The alternative is some oligarchal paymasters who fund its existence by sponsorship and is obsessed (just like P&O) with one objective – profit and self. Fact... Do you remember the times when US commercial TV sponsors controlled what was said? Who said it? And what was shown on US TV? Otherwise, they did not advertise. They did not sponsor.
In the US it is revealed – again – that a huge percentage of all reports put out about various situations the Ukraine, by their private enterprise, advert-littered, commercial
television services, have not been verified, substantiated or reported first hand. They have been shown as fact Gossip TV.
Ever wondered why the US schooling system to the age of 17-18 is probably the worst on the planet? Because the educators are the worst on the planet and their TV, that is supposed to offer some guidance and example, is also the worst on the planet... and it’s waiting for you.
Is the alternative a Governmentowned zombie broadcasting system – perhaps called Radio
Putin? Or Trump TV. Or...?? What we already have and has served us so well for nearly 100 years... the 100% independent, balanced, charter-based and managed British Broadcasting Corporation. It’s acknowledged around the world as without parallel. Its purpose is singular and cut in stone... service to its audience for all their various needs; to educate, inform and entertain without fear, without favour. Roma locuta est, causa finita est. And I learned what that meant from the BBC.
