I agree with the Rwanda policy

-

THERE must be many people who would not agree with Kevin Pyne when he describes the UK as a rich country in his letter.

How can this be so when thousands of families are dependent on food banks and cannot afford to heat their homes? With rapidly rising prices and high rates of inflation, many people will face losing their homes and businesses are at risk of closure in the not too distant future.

Mostly due to the pandemic, perhaps, Mr Pyne is not aware that the UK is massively in debt to the tune of over £2.3 trillion, which future generations will be paying off for decades!

I went to school in north-west London and many of my then friends, some of whom I remain in contact with, were the children of immigrants and genuine refugees, as I expect the mother of Mr Pyne was.

However, as far as I am aware, none of my friends’ parents paid criminals to transport them to the UK illegally – they arrived by the accepted methods at that time, worked hard and contributed to the economy.

In my opinion, the plan to send those who are probably be economic migrants, and the chancers attempting to secure housing and access to our generous benefits, to Rwanda is the correct one.

In the absence of any alternative plan from the opposition, perhaps Starmer is not aware that Blair was working on a very similar plan using Tanzania when he was in power?

This will act not only as a deterrent but will protect genuine refugees who use the correct immigration procedures from the illegals, who bypass the system and destroy their identities on arrival.

Apart from making a large number of criminals very rich, illegal immigration to the UK is a massive drain on our resources and on our economy and must be halted as quickly as possible.
