All countries must support sanctions

-

IT’S appalling that the likes of Germany and Italy are not putting their whole weight behind the sanctions against Russia over its war with Ukraine. Many of us have been warning for years over the dangers

of being reliant on oil, gas and coal from Putin’s Russia but it has fallen on deaf ears because of ‘self interests’.

At least Britain is prepared, at last, to put its money where its mouth is. The offending nations have created their own rods for their own backs and it seems a case of ‘to hell with the rest of you cos I’m All Right Jack’. They are finding it a difficult pill to swallow, even though the medicine will eventually make them better.

To put it in simple terms which even a child should be able to understand, it’s as if they have been gorging themselves on sweets and doughnuts because they taste nice and are conveniently cheap, despite the health warnings that they could rot your teeth and make you fat!

The time has now come when you have to go on a diet and slim down, have all your rotten teeth removed and put up with dentures. Not a pleasant outcome for anybody, but essential for your eventual wellbeing.

It’s always a bit late in the day to make such sacrifices which will eventually lead to a better lifestyle but one which is worth taking if you want any quality to your life in the long term.

Will the Germans and the Italians and other like-minded countries ever realise how to stop the rot of Putin’s aggression and stop buying their ‘Sweets and Doughnuts’ off him and funding his limitless aggression?

When it comes to self interests, don’t hold your breath on such actions by these Nato alliance partners of doing the right thing.
