Get ready for boot camp!
Who will survive The X Factor’s first big cull?
They’ve sung their hearts out in the intense auditions, but things are about to get really tough for the hopefuls… it’s time for boot camp! The Boys, Girls, Groups and Over27s all head to Wembley Arena, to impress judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger.
First up, the singers perform in groups of four, with a track they’ve chosen from a Wall of Songs. The judges then decide which hopefuls move to the next round, where they’ll each sing one more song – in front of a 5,000-strong audience – to progress to the Six-Chair Challenge, in two weeks. Can they
handle it?
Boys
Lloyd Macey, 23, South Wales
Lloyd was joined in the audition room by his biggest fan, his nan Christine – she’d even brought in fish-finger sarnies for Simon! Christine sat beside Simon during Lloyd’s emotional performance of
the Sam Smith ballad Lay Me Down.
Girls
Grace Davies, 20, Lancashire
The singer-songwriter reduced judge Sharon to tears with original song Roots, inspired by years of playing in pubs
and being told by friends she’d never get any further.
over-27s
Tracy Leanne Jefford, 34, Middlesex
Tracy first auditioned in 2006, making it to boot camp. Since then, she’s focused on raising her three kids. The judges were moved by Tracy’s rendition of classic hit Will You Love Me Tomorrow.
Groups
Rak-Su, 25-26, Watford
Ashley, Myles, Jamaal and Mustafa auditioned with their own song, I’m Feeling You. It was a huge hit with the judges – Louis and Nicole even sang it back to the band!
