Carmel thinks Max is about to propose – unaware he’s seeing Fi…
Carmel’s been seeing Max Branning for a while and has got used to his mood swings, accepting them as a personality trait. But council worker Carmel hasn’t a clue he is using her for council info, which he’s feeding back to his other girlfriend, Fi Browning.
This week, Max is more distracted than usual as he’s got James Willmott-Brown on his case, who wants Lauren stopped from revealing the truth about their plans for the Square. But when Max ignores keen Carmel, she’s not put off.
Besotted
Arranging a lunch for her busy boyfriend, Carmel’s efforts go to waste as Max fails to show. When she later talks to Max about how he feels about her, Carmel’s reassured by the ladies’ man and suggests they find a place together!
With lots bubbling under the surface with the WillmottBrown clan, Max gives Carmel a wide berth. Once again, Carmel fails to pick up on the signs and is thrilled when Max later hints moving in together is a good idea, and ecstatic when she goes on to find he’s secretly bought an engagement ring!
Carmel tells all her friends Max is about to propose and invites them to The Vic to witness the event. In the meantime, Max shares a toast with Willmott-Brown ahead of the launch of their ‘big plan’…
