A jealous Victoria and an upset Matty fall out over Abby…
Victoria was over the Moon when her best friend returned to Emmerdale. She didn’t question the fact that Hannah was now Matty, following a sex change.
Their friendship is strong, but lately Victoria has started to feel something more for Matty. It’s a bit awkward because not only is he her best friend – he’s her brother-in-law, too!
Worse still, Matty has started seeing someone. Victoria’s jealous yet lends her support when he admits he hasn’t told Abby he’s trans. But Abby finds out when Victoria puts her foot in it on Matty’s birthday.
Dumped
‘While Matty’s at the bar, Abby gets a call,’ explains Isabel Hodgins, who plays Victoria. ‘Victoria doesn’t know about the call, so when she finds Abby is upset Vic thinks she’s responded terribly to Matty telling her he’s trans. Victoria gets protective and defensive but Abby doesn’t have a clue what she’s talking about!’
When Abby dumps Matty, he’s angry with Victoria.
‘Matty’s embarrassed by Abby’s rejection,’ says Ash Palmisciano, who plays him. ‘He thinks that is going to be his life from now on. He loves Victoria but he takes it to heart and thinks she’s done it on purpose.’
