Cain and Will are both gunning for Malone… but who gets attacked?
Cain Dingle is raging and ready to pounce. With his beloved Moira in hospital, having been in a hit-and-run, Cain believes that dodgy DI Malone was behind the crime.
At the hospital, as Harriet, Cain and recovering Moira discuss the incident, the mechanic vows to get revenge on the bent copper as soon as he possibly can.
Although Harriet doesn’t know the driver was Jamie Tate, she swears to Moira that it wasn’t Malone, the vicar’s secret lover. But it’s not Moira who needs convincing – it’s a very angry Cain. And it needs to happen as soon as possible or else…
Caught in the act
Seeking out Cain – who has no idea that Harriet is sleeping with the detective – Harriet insists Malone is innocent and begs Cain not to do anything stupid. When the unresponsive Dingle walks off, she knows her words have had little effect.
‘Cain is spontaneous and is not a man to sort things out through talking,’ says
Katherine Dow Blyton, who plays the vicar. ‘Harriet is worried that he’s going to make everything worse and there’s going to be some sort of
hideous violence happening.’
Meanwhile, unaware Cain’s gunning for him, Malone is focused on Harriet. She reels in shock when Malone admits he’s in love with her and wants her to leave her fiancé Will and run away with him!
In a bid to get Will out of the picture, later Malone is planting a huge bag of drugs inside Will’s car when he’s caught in the act by his rival… As a fight breaks out, who ends up lifeless on Cain’s garage floor?
