My two dads!

After finding his birth mum, Marc Wolfe had a further discovery…

-

Marc Wolfe was reunited with his birth mum, Esther, by the Long Lost Family team two years ago.

Marc’s adoptive mother, Ruth, had died from leukaemia when Marc was just 16, so meeting Esther went some way to filling a void in Marc’s life. But since then, his search for Esther has also led to a surprise reunion with his biological father.

‘Meeting Esther made me think there was more to my story,’ says Marc, a HGV driver from Surrey. ‘Finding my natural father was always in the back of my mind. Where does my interest in the military and heavy vehicles come from? I wanted to know more.’

In this week’s final episode of Long Lost Family: What Happened Next, Marc’s father, David Ledwith, is found living in Spalding, Lincolnshire – and it turns out he and Marc have a surprising amount in common. Both are ex-military, lorry drivers and like building things!

Forever family

‘I want David in my life,’ says Marc. ‘Considering the short time we’ve known each other, we’re actually very close.’

However, for Marc’s life to feel complete, a significant hurdle needs to be overcome – for David and Marc’s adoptive father, Terry, to meet and get on. Cameras follow Marc as he introduces David to Terry for the first time and, fortunately, the meeting is a success. ‘Dad can’t be replaced, but it’s important for me they both get on,’ says

Marc. ‘I’m fortunate that I have two fathers. They’re both part of my family for ever now.’
