Geoff is six feet under, but Yasmeen is still in the grip of the horror her abusive husband put her through. And this week his evil deeds wreak havoc.
Alya’s doing all she can to help her fragile gran, who runs off from Speed Daal when someone asks to book Geoff’s magic act.
‘When the customer is talking about Geoff, it is another manifestation of Geoff’s ghost – his memory can never be erased,’ explains Shelley King, who plays Yasmeen.
Wanting to help, Alya and Elaine try to clear all traces of Geoff from the restaurant. But as Alya sorts through, she finds the final demand letters!
‘Yasmeen’s overwhelmed, which is why she’s hidden all the bills. She believes deep down that she is to blame,’ says Shelley.
Bailiffs
When Imran mentions Yasmeen hasn’t settled his legal fees, Alya realises the problem is huge. Although Yasmeen won’t hear of selling the community centre, her jewellery is another matter…
The Nazirs are then interrupted by
bailiffs, who insist money needs to start appearing or they’ll take stuff instead.
Taking the issue to the bank, Alya tries to explain what’s happened, but with Yasmeen’s signature on the paperwork, there’s not a lot that can be done. It’s all too much for Yasmeen, who has a panic attack…
‘She becomes Geoff in her head, putting herself down,’ adds Shelley. ‘He is telling her she is an idiot and a fool who has lost everything.’
