(Andre Deutsch, 160 pages, £20) Compiled by Churchill’s official biographer since 1968, this features nearly 200 images from the archives of the Imperial War Museums. Churchill’s charisma and sense of humour shine through in these photos that were taken between 1940-1945. We find him deep in conversation with world leaders, sharing a joke with dockers and even taking time out for a picnic with his generals on the banks of the Rhine.
