NAKED STOCKBROKERS

Yesterday, at Teddington Petty Sessions, stockbrokers Charles Henry de Rivez, Ernest Huggett, Edward Jones, Ernest Matthews, John Aldercron, Allan Gabriel, George Wellings and cabman James Henry Argyle were summoned together for using obscene, scandalous, indecent and improper language in, upon, or about the river Thames at Staines.

There were further summonses against De Rivez, Huggett, Jones, and Matthews with unlawfully bathing in the river without wearing proper bathing dress. After hearing the evidence, the Chairman said the Bench considered all the defendants were guilty.

It was most lamentable to see men disgrace themselves in such a manner, and they were each fined.
