Watch out!

City archivist Chris Latimer says: “The boundaries in between different towns and parishes, changed over time. One thing which often causes confusion is that a third of the modern city – the towns of Burslem and Tunstall – were not in the Poor Law union and civil registration district called Stoke-upon-Trent, but in Wolstanton and Burslem until 1922.”
