www.iwm.org.uk The Imperial War Museum’s film collection remains a key repository for war-related footage. Access the online catalogue then select ‘Collection­s’. Without typing in the box, click ‘search’ to access the filter function. Choose ‘Category’, select ‘Film’ then ‘Subject period’. THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES www.nationalar­chives.gov.uk The National Archives ( TNA) holds many documents about the cinema industry, but little film footage. You can, however, view a selection of public informatio­n films made by the Central Office of Informatio­n between 1945 and 2006. Go to the homepage then search for “public informatio­n film” (quotation marks are important).
