TIME TO REMEMBER

J OI N THE ROYAL BRITI SH L EGION’S ONLINE CAMPAIGN TO CELEBRATE THE LI VES OF EVERY MAN AND WOMAN WHO FELL DURING THE FI RST WORLD WAR

-

T he Royal British Legion is on a mission to honour all the service men and women who lost their lives during the First World War. Together with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, it launched the Every Man Remembered campaign in 2014 – and now it needs your help.

Every Man Remembered is a digital database of the 1,117,077 Commonwealth troops who were lost in the First World War, and the aim is that at least one dedication will be received for each and every one of them.

So far almost 300,000 have been commemorated, but that means there are still over 800,000 to go. Now you’re invited to play your part in what’s been called ‘the greatest act of remembrance this country has ever known’.

Remember your fallen hero

Every Man Remembered is an opportunity for you to pay personal tribute to a relative or family friend who was lost, ensuring their story lives on for years to come. Even if you don’t know anyone who lost their life, you can still lend your support to the campaign by commemorating another fallen hero. Join the campaign Simply visit everymanremembered.org. You can look up a family member, friend or namesake, make a random search, or take up the invitation on the welcome page to remember someone special to you. You’ll be joining the likes of Lord Fellowes, the historian Dan Snow, business woman Baroness Brady and actors Hermione Norris and Tom Hardy, who have already pledged their support.
