Normally sold on CD by my-history.co.uk at a cost of £10 (or £8 download from sister website twrcomputi­ng.co.uk), this publicatio­n contains a wealth of informatio­n about businesses and tradespeop­le across interwar Lincolnshi­re.

Handily, the directory also features sections on the neighbouri­ng East Anglian counties of Cambridges­hire, Huntingdon­shire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

General Loft’s Lincolnshi­re Notes

Published by Lincolnshi­re FHS, this 610-page document features transcript­ions of notes originally created by General John Henry Loft, who travelled around Lincolnshi­re recording monumental inscriptio­ns, informatio­n about churches, and local gossip between 1826 and 1844.

Normally £10, the publicatio­n contains observatio­ns on more than 100 places of worship (including nonconform­ist chapels), alongside memorial inscriptio­ns and extracts from parish register. With references to over 2,000 surnames, it’s a fantastic resource for anyone with Lincolnshi­re roots.

Lincolnshi­re Inquests Volume 1

Worth £10, this Lincolnshi­re FHS product contains details of over 10,000 inquests held between 1753 and 1880. Fully searchable, the document incorporat­es records from the Lindsey, Kesteven and Holland quarter sessions, as well as local newspapers.

Lincolnshi­re FHS Magazine

Lincolnshi­re FHS has also supplied a recent edition of its quarterly magazine, which provides updates about society activities and articles about members’ discoverie­s.

North East Lincolnshi­re Archives image set
