BEDFORDSHIRE FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY
Bedfordshire Family History Society ( bfhs.org.uk) has been offering research advice since 1977. As well as holding meetings and maintaining a bookshop, the society sells local parish register transcriptions, census indexes and monumental inscriptions via genfair.co.uk and parishchest.com.
METHODIST HERITAGE
The Methodist Church in Britain has its own heritage organisation, Methodist Heritage, which aims to preserve and promote the history of the Christian denomination. In addition to the overarching website methodistheritage.org.uk Methodist Heritage operates four smaller sites, each of
which is devoted to different branches of the movement: mymethodisthistory.org. uk, my wesley an methodists. org.uk, my bible christians. org.uk and myprimitive methodists.org.uk.
Each site features an online ‘community archive’, containing an array of free resources aimed at people researching their Methodist ancestors.
NONCONFORMIST REGISTERS
The most comprehensive collection of nonconformist registers is held at The National Archives, Kew, in series RG4– 8.
The sets can be accessed online by subscribers to the
genealogist.co.uk and its sister site bmdregisters.co.uk, together with members of ancestry.co.uk.
