Rutland parish records go online
Centuries of parish registers from Rutland are now available in a new collection on familysearch. org. In total 326,083 baptism, marriage and burial records, dating from 1538 to 1991, have been indexed on the free family history website. Some of the records, taken from the Record Office for Leicestershire, Leicester & Rutland, are accompanied by digitised images, but to view them researchers have to visit a FamilySearch family history centre or be members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, which runs FamilySearch.
