FIBIS indexes arrivals and departures

The 1847 arrival and departure notices from the Bombay Times have been added to the Families in British India Society ( FIBIS) free online database. The newspaper’s notices provide a record of individuals travelling to British- occupied India, and join existing records for 1848–1851. The searchable data consists of 3,118 arrivals and 1,740 departures. To view the FIBIS database, containing more than 1,883,100 names, visit search.fibis.org/frontis/bin.
