Watch out!

The diocese of Gloucester was created in 1540. The majority of the pre-1540 wills, when most of the county was in the diocese of Worcester, are at Worcestershire Record Office. Some parts of the Forest of Dean fell within the diocese of Hereford, so wills for this area are to be found at Hereford Archive and Record Centre.
