That Barnsley contingent who rose this morning with the intention of walking to Sheffield for the fourth struggle between the local team and Bradford City saw something that filled their hearts with misgiving. First there was snow, then sleet. Next there was sleet and then snow, and in the fullness of time came rain. But still the Barnsley men set forth for a rough 18-mile walk. In Sheffield, we recognised these happy-go-lucky enthusiast­s easily. Sturdy young men without overcoats or umbrellas sauntered slowly along the High Street with an air of utter nonchalanc­e, and we knew we had found our men.
