Use war memorials to uncover connections that may lead to more records

What do you think of when someone mentions war memorials? A village cross? A church plaque? Jonathan Scott’s article on war memorial websites ( page 49) really brought home to me that those who die in war may be honoured in a variety of ways and places. By following a memorial trail you may discover where they lived, where they were born, where they went to school and where they worked.
