Glamorgan Archives serves the
County Borough Councils of Bridgend, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Vale of Glamorgan and the City of Cardiff, and holds records for the historic county of Glamorgan but primarily for post-1974 Mid and South Glamorgan.

There is a wealth of material here on microfiche and microfilm, including General Register Office (GRO) birth, marriage and death indexes, census returns, indexes of wills, land tax returns and the Cambrian newspaper. There are copies of local parish registers, as well as indexes compiled by Glamorgan Family History Society. Other resources include trade directories; electoral registers and rate books; estate rentals and land tax returns, which list landowners and farmers; and school and workhouse records.
