TheGenealogist adds tithe maps from four counties
Family history site thegenealogist. co.uk has added georeferenced black-and-white tithe maps from Berkshire, Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire and Oxfordshire to its collection. The tithe maps were compiled between 1836 and the 1850s as part of a survey to establish which areas were required to pay tithes to the local church, and who owned them. For family historians they provide a record of what property our Victorian ancestors owned, and where they lived.
