Windsor’s Dames take on Castle to Castle fundraiser

-

Windsor RFC’s Dames team are in the process of completing a ‘Castle to Castle’ challenge to raise money for when the team eventually does return to action.

The Dames have been part of the club since 2013 and were winners of the National Junior Plate in 2016 and 2017 and their matches take place at Home Park, under the shadow of Windsor Castle.

To raise money for the season ahead, the Dames will be covering the equivalent distance from Windsor Castle to Edinburgh Castle by running, walking, hoping, skipping or jumping – ‘the more creative the better’.

Over the course of four weeks each player will need to average at least seven miles a week to complete the challenge. Donations will go toward buying equipment and kit for the new season.

You can follow their progress via the club website or via Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.

“We hope when the time is right to get more involved with the youth groups and be a part of the one club we all know and love, whether it will be coaching, socials or just being a friendly face. We hope we can show, YOU, our appreciation in the near future.”

Windsor's senior squad hopes to return for socially distanced training sessions from July 14.
