Spook-tacular ghoul-scoring from Juniors

-

There was plenty of good Ghoul-scoring and some Spook-tacular Halloween football from Maidenhead United Juniors last weekend

For U7 Magpies Kian

volunteered to be ‘keeper for the whole game, allowing fewer positional changes and this was backed up with solid performances by all players. Within 20 minutes the Magpies were soaring with a goalmouth scramble deflected goal for Freddie and hat-trick for Tyler. POTM was Kian for his solid Halloween goal keeping performance and overall support to the team.

U8 Magpies met Binfield Panthers on a wet and windy pitch. Play was slow across the first couple of quarters with a pretty evenly matched contest, battling each other and the elements. After half time there was a goal-line scramble and a goal conceded, after which the team started to look a bit tired.

U8 Colts played away at Chalfont. Despite a heavy pitch with the ball not running smoothly, the team were able to play long and short passes and linking play nicely. Colts were rapid with their quick one –twos with Nat driving the play and Rory scoring with a blockbuster finish. A second followed with a lovely one-two between Fin and Rory and the third goal from Nat was a reward for his drive and battling all match. Into the last quarter Seb added another two smart finishes and Yoan added a sixth at the end. Nat received Player of the Match but all the boys share in the success of what was a complete team performance.
