Give NHS money it needs to deal with virus

-

The UK is being gripped by a second wave of COVID-19 and hospitals, doctors and nurses are sounding the alarm that there’s a huge £1 billion gap in the funding the NHS needs to get through.

In this second wave, some hospitals are already reporting intensive care bed shor tages.

Others are postponing operations for cancer patients.

Time is running out to make sure the

NHS will be properly equipped for a hard winter.

On November 25, Chancellor Rishi Sunak will set out the Government’s emergency funding plan.

He has the power to ensure our NHS doesn’t have to cut back to provide us with the proper care we all need.

We expect him to keep his promise to give the NHS what it needs to tackle this pandemic.

Right now pressure is mounting on the Government from all angles, with top NHS bosses calling for better funding.

At the start of the pandemic, the Government promised the NHS would get whatever it needed to see us through.

When our NHS doesn’t have enough money to get by, it affects all of us.

Whether we get sick from COVID-19, need to rush a family member to hospital after an accident, or are on the wait-list for surgery, we all rely on our health service.

It’s there for us – now we need to be there for it, to make sure it has everything it needs to keep on keeping us safe. RIZWAN WAHAB Avebur y Slough
