ECB urges caution

The England and Wales Cricket

Board (ECB) are advising players not to participat­e in one-to-one coaching throughout this second national lockdown. The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has said one-to-one session are permissibl­e in public outdoor spaces (as long as social distancing is maintained), the ECB has said that they don’t think it’s appropriat­e for the welfare or safety of players.

A statement read: “In reality, from a cricket perspectiv­e, we understand that playing on good quality surfaces is imperative to safeguardi­ng our players. Therefore, we do not believe one-to-one coaching activities in public spaces is appropriat­e for the welfare and safety of players.”
