‘Nasty politics’ won’t stop Aldi development

-

Nasty and personally abusive comments from the WWRA party’s councillors over the Aldi planning application flowed into Viewpoint last week (November 20).

Ordinary members of the WWRA and residents are fed up with their constant political attacks from so called ‘independents’ that do not deal with the real issues.

WWRA party councillors promised during their election campaign to buy the Wyevale Garden Centre.

After being elected they only held one meeting with council officers in 18 months to discuss this key election pledge.

WWRA party councillors did little or nothing to explain this important planning application (and its impact) to residents.

At the Borough’s Planning Panel they objected to Aldi taking over the garden centre site despite the council’s planning team and all but one member of the planning panel approving the proposal.

It will be sad to see the last garden centre in the Dedworth area disappear and I hope that Aldi will get on with building their new store and hire local people where they can.

Nasty politics from the WWRA Party will not stop that nor will it stop residents from concluding that the WWRA Party councillors have followed their own personal interests on the Aldi planning application.
