Rebels host Dartford while Magpies travel to Weymouth in FA Trophy ties

-

Slough Town will welcome familiar opponents Dartford to Arbour Park for their second round tie in the FA Trophy on Tuesday evening, after the draw was made Wednesday lunchtime.

The Rebels will be looking to progress past their Kent-based rivals but know they’ll be in for a tough match with the Darts sitting top of the National League South table. They did, however, knock them out of the FA Cup in their first competitive match of the season.

The winners of this tie will then have a home game against either Haringey Borough or Eastbourne Borough in the competion’s third round.

Maidenhead United will visit Weymouth in the third round of the FA Trophy next weekend.

The Magpies were handed one of the trickier ties of the round and will travel to the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday, December 19. United will have an extra few days to prepare for the tie after Macclesfield’s winding up order earlier this season means they don’t have a league fixture this Saturday.

Maidenhead haven’t had a great deal of success in the Trophy in recent seasons and suffered a surprise exit to lower league Halesowen Town in last season’s competition.

The Terras also exited the Trophy early last season after a 2-1 first round defeat to Barnet. Newly promoted Weymouth sit 22nd in the National League with the Magpies in fourth.
