Twenty-ninewenty nine S2 pupils attended the North Lanarkshire Council Celebrating Success day at M & D’s in Strathclyde Park.

They were being rewarded for being the most successful pupils in S2 based on the number of times they topped the monthly merit awards, and for having excellent attendance and timekeeping records throughout the school year.

The Braidhurst pupils had a great time and Lewis Purves said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to M & D’s because I got to spend time with five of my friends and go on rides.

“We went on the water slides and swings. We had lunch there and lots of fun and jokes.”

Lewis McCallum added: “We had a great day and got to go on all the rides.

“It was a great opportunity and a very good way to reward pupils who had done well in school this year.”

Thanks to Mrs McKenna, Mrs Dalzell and Dr Gardner for supervising the pupils on the trip.

Race For Life The staff and S6 pupil Holly Worton braved the rain to support the ‘Braidy goes pink for Liz’ initiative and took part in the Race For Life event in Glasgow on May 22, in honour of school drama teacher, Liz Hughes, who sadly lost her battled with Cancer earlier in the year.

Liz was a well-respected member of the Braidhurst team and was loved by pupils and staff alike.

The total raised for the charity in Liz’s name was £1,120.

Thanks to all who took part and to those who donated money.
